Uniform
The Dapto High School uniform is supported by the NSW Department of Education to ensure student safety, promote a strong sense of school identity, and foster student belonging. Wearing the uniform is mandatory.
Our school uniform
JUNIOR UNIFORM (Years 7 – 10)
Dress: Tartan pattern with maroon tie.
Skirt: Maroon tartan pleated style.
Shirt/Polo: Maroon with gold piping polo shirt with gold embroidered ‘DHS’ crest.
Shorts: Plain black elastic waist with embroidered ‘DHS’ (long and short length). OR Plain grey elastic waist OR fly and belt loop chino style (no embroidery).
Long Pants: Plain long black lined track pants with embroidered ‘DHS’ (microfibre fabric). OR Plain long grey elastic waist OR fly and belt loops, chino style (no embroidery).
Jacket: Maroon, zippered/fleece lined jacket with embroidered ‘DHS’ crest.
SENIOR UNIFORM (Years 11 and 12)
Dress: Tartan pattern with white tie.
Skirt: Maroon tartan style pleated.
Blouse/Shirt: White button front collared, maroon piping, embroidered ‘Dapto High Senior’. OR White polo shirt with maroon collar and embroidered school crest. OR White button front collared shirt, embroidered ‘Dapto High Senior’.
Shorts: Plain black elastic waist with embroidered ‘DHS’ (long and short length). OR Plain grey elastic waist OR fly and belt loop chino style (no embroidery).
Long Pants: Plain long black lined track pants with embroidered ‘DHS’ (microfibre fabric). OR Plain long grey elastic waist OR fly and belt loops, chino style (no embroidery).
Jacket: Maroon, zippered/fleece lined jacket with embroidered ‘DHS’ crest.
NOTE: Senior students may only wear their own year-level hoodie. Hoodies from older relatives or friends are not permitted.
SPORTS UNIFORM (Years 7 – 11)
Shirt: Gold with maroon/white side panel polo shirt with embroidered ‘Dapto’.
Shorts: Plain black elastic waist with embroidered ‘DHS’ (long and short length).
Long Pants: Plain long black lined track pants with embroidered ‘DHS’ (microfibre fabric).
Requirement: The Sports uniform must be worn every Thursday and for all PE lessons. Full sports uniform is required for Thursday sport; students must change if sport-specific attire (e.g., OzTag shorts/tights) is needed.

General Uniform Standards
Non-Branded Items: Items without ‘DHS’ embroidery must be identical in style to those available at Daylight Sportswear (no external logos permitted).
Tights/Leggings: Tights, leggings, bike shorts, and activewear are not uniform items, but plain tights/leggings may be worn with the school dress.
Approved Hoodies: Representative sport, AIME, Top Blokes, and Young Women’s Program hoodies are permitted.
Mandatory Wear: The school uniform must be worn daily for all excursions, examinations, and official media/publicity photos.
Identification: All items of clothing and equipment should be marked with the student’s name.
Footwear and Jewellery
Footwear: Shoes must be covered, lace-up leather or leather-like, providing protection in line with health and safety requirements. Plain black is preferred.
Jewellery: Must be appropriate and comply with health and safety rules (e.g., no oversized hanging earrings).
Sun Protection: Hats with appropriate logos are encouraged for sun protection.
Out of Uniform Procedures
Explanation: Parents/caregivers must provide a note of explanation for students who are temporarily out of uniform, to be presented at Roll Call.
Compliance: Persistent failure to wear the correct uniform will result in an appropriate disciplinary response.
Financial Support: Student Assistance for uniform purchases is available through the Front Office.
Pre-loved Uniforms
Clothing Pool: Pre-loved uniform items are available from the Clothing Pool at a minimal cost.
Donations: Donations of pre-loved uniforms are accepted and appreciated at the Front Office.
Mufti Day Rules
Footwear: Covered leather or leather-like shoes must be worn.
Prohibited Items: Midriff tops, active wear shorts/tights, inappropriate short clothing, and singlet tops are not permitted.
PE Lessons: Students must wear the PE uniform for any timetabled PE lesson on a Mufti Day.
